Oslo-born Lise Ellingsen earned a BFA from the School of Visual Arts in New York before spending over a decade working at leading advertising and graphic design firms in NYC, including MTV, Anomaly, FCB Health, The Bloc, and Avalere Health. Her experience spans a diverse range of projects across both general and healthcare brands, from Smirnoff, Coca-Cola, and ESPN to Novartis, Pfizer, and argenx.
She has received numerous awards and honors for her work, including the prestigious Art Directors Club Award and Type Directors Club Award, as well as multiple merit awards from Graphis. Equally adept in social media, digital, print, TV, and video storytelling, she has spearheaded innovative projects that leverage emerging technologies to create groundbreaking campaigns. Holding an Adobe AI Marketing Specialist Professional Certificate, she is also well-versed in working with the latest AI technologies.
In addition to her advertising career, Ellingsen founded BlondesMakeBetterTshirts.com, a T-shirt design company that has sold globally in stores such as Nordstrom and Saks Fifth Avenue and has been featured in Elle, Nylon, and on ABC TV.
She earned an MFA from Vermont College of Fine Arts in 2021. In recent years, her work has been exhibited in a variety of prestigious galleries, both in solo and group shows, including SPRING/BREAK (Manhattan), Scandinavia House Gallery (Manhattan), Wassaic Project (Upstate NY), and Tiger Strikes Asteroid (Philadelphia).
Her fine art practice explores conceptual storytelling, often integrating technology into large-scale installations. She experiments with 3D-scanned sculptures for augmented reality, animation, 3D printing, and cutting-edge AI to push creative boundaries. This innovative approach allows her to bring fresh, out-of-the-box thinking to her commercial work as a strategic Associate Creative Director and Graphic Designer.
